
Club Championships 2022

The 2022 Maccabi Tennis Club and Victorian Jewish Tennis Championships was played on the weekends of August 27/28, September 3/4 and 10/11.
Congratulations to Joel Fredman for taking out the Open Singles Final against Jess Flicker (6-1, 6-3). This is Joel’s 3rd club championship title (and in 3 different decades as well)!
Congratulations to Alan Liebowitz for taking out the B-Singles Final against Adam Needleman (4-6, 6-1, 6-3) in a 2 and a half hour classic.
Well done to brothers Dean Steinberg and Warren Steinberg for taking out the men’s doubles in a round robin.
Just a shoutout to Jordan Jaffe and Marcus Frajman for putting in a early contender for match of the club championships for the open singles. Jordan getting his revenge on Marcus from last year, prevailing 6-4, 5-7, 7-6.
Meanwhile in the B-Singles draw, Errol Dorfan and David Zulman played a mammoth 3.5 hour match, with Errol taking out the number 1 seed 7-6, 6-7, 7-5.
Singles matches are the best of 3 sets.
Also note that the doubles event is a round robin format: one set (first to 6 games with tiebreak at 6all).
